WestJet Heads to Amsterdam from Halifax

WestJet is increasing its transatlantic capacity from Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ) by a whopping 97 percent over last year. The latest route contributing to this growth was announced Feb. 18, 2025 between YHZ and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS).

Beginning on May 29, 2025 return flights will operate six times weekly between the Nova Scotia capital and the KLM hub in the Netherlands.

“WestJet’s new service between Halifax and Amsterdam opens the door for record growth in Nova Scotia through vital investment that strengthens connectivity to Europe, furthering tourism and economic opportunities,” says Jared Mikoch-Gerke, Director of Alliances and Airport Affairs, WestJet. “We’re excited to see the stories that will unfold as travellers from both regions connect and discover the unique charm of these vibrant cities.” 

Summer 2025 marks a banner year for Halifax passengers, with flights set to operate to Paris, London, Dublin and Edinburgh in addition to the new Amsterdam route.
