World Nomads Canada has introduced expanded travel insurance products aimed at providing Canadian travellers with more flexibility and broader protection.
The company says the changes come at a time when record travel volumes are increasing travellers' exposure to unexpected disruptions. According to World Nomads, Canadians are seeking coverage that better reflects today's travel environment, which includes challenges such as airline disruptions, severe weather events and geopolitical instability.
"Travel today looks very different than it did even a few years ago," said Christina Tunnah, Head of the Americas at World Nomads Canada.
"Canadian travellers are navigating more costly disruptions like airline bankruptcies, severe weather and global wars. They need coverage that goes further. These updates are designed to deliver deeper protection tailored to those realities, so travellers can feel confident no matter what their trip throws at them."
The updated product lineup includes two new plan options.
The Epic Single Trip Plan is positioned as a premium option with higher coverage limits and expanded benefits for longer or more expensive trips. Meanwhile, the Annual Multi-Trip Plan provides coverage for multiple trips of up to 14 days each over a 12-month period, targeting frequent travellers.
World Nomads has also introduced an optional Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) add-on for its Explorer and Epic plans, allowing travellers to cancel trips for reasons that may not be covered under standard travel insurance policies.
Several new benefits are now available across the company's Explorer, Epic and Annual Multi-Trip plans, including rental vehicle coverage for accidents or theft, emergency medical and boarding expenses for pets travelling with their owners, and travel inconvenience payments for situations such as extended tarmac delays or insufficient snow at ski destinations.
The plans also include a trip exchange benefit designed to provide coverage if a cruise line or tour operator changes travel dates.
In addition to the product enhancements, World Nomads announced that its travel insurance products for Canadian residents are now underwritten by Zurich Insurance Group.
The insurer said the move strengthens the coverage available to Canadian travellers through Zurich's long-standing experience in the insurance sector.
World Nomads has been serving Canadian travellers since 2008 and said the latest updates were developed in response to evolving travel patterns, customer feedback and changing traveller needs.
Coverage details, eligibility requirements and benefit limits vary by plan. Travellers are encouraged to review policy documents carefully before purchasing coverage.
