Intrepid Travel has seen a surge of interest in bookings, amounting to its best June ever. Globally, new bookings were up 40 percent year over year, driven in no small part by industry channels, which in Canada were up 61 percent compared with last year. Customized trips in its “Tailor-Made” collection showed enormous growth in North America, clocking in at 126 percent year over year.
“Travellers are ready to book and willing to invest but they’re being more intentional about the trips they choose,” says Leigh Barnes, President of the Americas at Intrepid Travel. “We’re thrilled that travel advisors see Intrepid as a perfect fit for travellers seeking more meaningful experiences. Plus, our expanded Premium line gives travel advisors a timely way to address clients who want a more elevated experience, but with the ease and confidence that comes from having all the logistics taken care of.”
Capitalizing on the momentum of its success, the tour company is launching three new itineraries in Greenland, Costa Rica and Norway, and more than 50 new signature experiences across its Premium range. "We're seeing strong demand from travellers who want to explore the world in greater comfort, without sacrificing the local connections and authentic experiences that make travel meaningful, says Erica Kritikides, General Manager of Experiences at Intrepid Travel about the new additions to the line-up.
Intrepid Travel provided snapshots of what guests can expect on the new itineraries, which feature elevated accommodation and activities:
- The new 8-day Premium Greenland trip will be Intrepid’s second land-based tour in the country. Travellers stay at a remote eco-lodge perched on rocky hillsides overlooking the sea near the UNESCO-listed Ilulissat Icefjord, as well as enjoying a boat excursion to the enormous Eqi Glacier, where they’ll cruise past drifting icebergs and towering ice walls deep within the fjord.
- The 8-day Premium Costa Rica – Tortuguero and the Caribbean Coast trip, guests stay at Tortuga Lodge, one of Costa Rica’s most renowned rainforest eco-lodges, and visit a permaculture farm to harvest fresh ingredients before joining a local family for a traditional Afro-Caribbean cooking experience.
- The 8-day Premium Norwegian Fjords trip features a stay in the charming sea houses of Knutholmen, a historic Nordic fishing village, with the opportunity to unwind in a floating sauna overlooking the bay.
The new signature experiences will be found on a variety of itineraries across the globe. They include an after-hours visit to the UNESCO-listed My Son Sanctuary with a Cham researcher and conservationist on 15-day Premium Vietnam in Depth trip, and exclusive access to the private workshop of a master Andalusian imagery sculptor on the 8-day Premium Spain trip. With these new additions, Intrepid now offers more than 100 Premium trips across six continents and 62 countries.
“Our Premium style brings together our most experienced local leaders, handpicked feature stays and carefully curated inclusions, taking the stress out of travel while delivering exceptional and distinct experiences that leverage Intrepid’s extensive global networks.” says Kritikides. “With new trips in Greenland, Norway and Costa Rica, and more than 50 new signature experiences added across the range, we're continuing to raise the bar for what travellers can expect from a Premium adventure."
The new itineraries are available to book now and will depart from May 2027. For more information, please visit www.intrepidtravel.com/premium.
