Intrepid Travel announced the launch of “Stay Intrepid,” a new accommodation collection including six experience-led properties across Australia and Morocco.

The new portfolio includes boutique lodges, safari-style stays and a riad in Marrakech that can be booked independently of Intrepid’s tours. According to the company, the properties are tied together by a focus on locally-led experiences, community partnerships and conservation initiatives.

The initial Stay Intrepid lineup includes:

  • Daintree Ecolodge in Queensland’s Daintree Rainforest
  • Edge of the Bay in Tasmania
  • Arkaba Homestead in South Australia’s Flinders Ranges
  • Bamarru Plains in Australia’s Northern Territory
  • Ooraminna Homestead near Alice Springs
  • Riad Joudour in Marrakech, Morocco

Each property will offer curated local experiences tied to the surrounding destination and culture. Examples include First Nations-guided cultural walks and basket weaving at Daintree Ecolodge, conservation-focused safaris at Arkaba Homestead and Moroccan cooking classes at Riad Joudour in partnership with Amal Association, which provides culinary training and employment support for women in Morocco.

“Stay Intrepid represents an exciting next step in our ambition to bring immersive travel experiences to more people around the world,” said Richmond Sear, General Manager of Accommodation Australia at Intrepid Travel.

“It opens up new opportunities to create stays that are experience-led and rooted in community, aligning with our mission to create positive change through the joy of travel. By working closely with people and partners in each destination, we’ve developed unique experiences that deepen travellers’ connection with nature and local culture, while providing an exceptional base for exploration and relaxation.”

The company said it plans to expand the Stay Intrepid portfolio to as many as 20 properties globally by 2028.

Several of the properties also include partnerships tied to environmental or social initiatives. Daintree Ecolodge works with Rainforest Rescue, while Edge of the Bay partners with Greening Australia on ecosystem restoration projects.

Intrepid said the move reflects growing demand for accommodation experiences that combine local culture, sustainability and immersive travel.
