G Adventures has launched new flexible booking options for travellers. Three tiers of protection (flexy, flexier and flexiest) offer different levels of protection, giving those who book a G Adventure added peace of mind in case things change and they need to adjust their travel plans.
“Booking an adventure should be exciting, not daunting, and these new flexible booking options provide agents with another tool to help turn ‘I’m thinking about it’ into ‘I’m booking it’. That final moment of hesitation is often driven by uncertainty, rather than a lack of desire to travel. Flex helps remove that uncertainty and offers travellers peace of mind when they lock in their adventure,” says David Green, Global VP, Customer Sales & Solutions and Managing Director, Canada.
Trip add-ons added at a later date, such as pre or post nights or transfers, are also automatically protected by an existing flexible booking option at no extra cost. Of particular note to travel advisors is the fact that the Stay Flexy plans are commissionable at the same rate as the tour, and non-refundable, so that commission is protected, even if the traveller has to cancel their trip.
“It’s designed to be a genuinely useful product for agents, not another thing to explain at the point of sale,” says Green.
G shared details of the three tiers of protection:
FLEXY - for the ‘I’m pretty sure I’m going’ traveller
G Adventures’ standard flexible option provides a full refund for trips departing more than 60 days away, giving travellers an added layer of reliability if things shift after booking.
- 60+ days before departure: Full refund with Lifetime Deposit kept on file.
- 59–30 days: Up to 50% of tour value refunded, with the remainder subject to cancellation terms and Lifetime Deposit.
- 29 days or less: Lifetime Deposit retained, with the remainder subject to cancellation fees.
FLEXIER - for the “I’m going, but let’s not tempt fate” traveller
Flexier extends the cancellation window and converts more cancellation penalties into Future Travel Credits, keeping travellers’ money in play for their next adventure. It also comes with a few extras designed to have travellers’ backs before they even leave home, including 1GB travel eSim, lost luggage protection of up to $500 USD, priority service and double the trees grown on their behalf while on trip.
- 60+ days before departure: Full refund with Lifetime Deposit kept on file.
- 59–30 days: 50% refund, with the remainder split between Lifetime Deposit and Future Travel Credit.
- 29–21 days: Lifetime Deposit and Future Travel Credit, meaning 100% of traveller money is protected.
- 20 days or less: Lifetime Deposit retained, with the remainder subject to cancellation fees.
FLEXIEST - for the “I want ALL the reassurance” traveller
For travellers making a big commitment, booking further in advance or simply wanting maximum flexibility, Flexiest pushes the protection window even further and offers 3GB eSim, lost luggage protection up to $1,000 USD, priority service and double the trees grown on their behalf while on trip.
- 60+ days before departure: Full refund, with Lifetime Deposit kept on file.
- 59–21 days: 50% refund, with the remainder split between Lifetime Deposit and Future Travel Credit.
- 20–5 days: Lifetime Deposit and Future Travel Credit, meaning 100% of traveller money is protected.
- 4 days or less: Lifetime Deposit retained, with the remainder subject to cancellation fees.
Note that for all tiers, Future Travel Credits are valid for 24 months.
