TTAND Promotes Alma Ortiz to Director Supplier Relations

The Travel Agent Next Door (TTAND) has promoted Alma Ortiz to Director Supplier Relations.

In the position, Ortiz is responsible for managing TTAND’s portfolio of supplier partners and destination management companies (DMCs). She also manages the organization’s annual National Conference.

Ortiz joined TTAND in June 2016 and has since grown her portfolio to 70 supplier partners and 10 DMCs. Her responsibilities include contracting new partnerships, handling renewals and overseeing revenue growth and market-share development.

“I am extremely proud of Alma. In her supplier relations role, she has been a major part of our growth at The Travel Agent Next Door and has also managed our conferences, “ said Flemming Friisdahl, Founder and President.

“We have worked together for 20 years starting at Thomas Cook and more recently with TTAND.”

Ortiz has more than 20 years of experience in the travel industry. She began her career in 1999 with North American Leisure Group, which later became Thomas Cook and is now TravelBrands.

During her time there, Ortiz worked as Event Coordinator in Inside Sales, managing annual product launches and roadshows across Ontario and Atlantic Canada, as well as brochure distribution for Thomas Cook’s portfolio of brands.

She joined TTAND in 2016 and has since taken on responsibility for both supplier relations and the host agency’s national conference.
