WHY IT RATES: The important appointment will soon take effect and is a key step in the next phase of the hotel giant's growth in the booming all-inclusive segment.—Patrick Clarke, TravelPulse Senior Editor

Hyatt Hotels Corporation today announced that Eduardo Schutte has been appointed SVP, Commercial, Hyatt Inclusive Collection, to further strengthen Hyatt's leadership in the leisure and all-inclusive segments by complementing its scale, best-in-class operating model and unmatched distribution platform in the category with an even stronger commercial organization. This appointment, effective July 27, will support the next phase of growth for Hyatt's Inclusive Collection.

In this role, Schutte will lead the commercial strategy for Hyatt's Inclusive Collection, overseeing sales, revenue management, brand, marketing, distribution and other commercial functions, with a focus on enhancing commercial performance, driving brand preference, strengthening distribution capabilities and reinforcing Hyatt's leadership in the leisure segment. He will report to Javier Águila, President, Inclusive Collection, Hyatt and work in close alignment with Hyatt’s Chief Commercial Officer, Mark Vondrasek.

“Eduardo brings a rare combination of hospitality operating depth, sophisticated distribution expertise and enterprise-scale commercial leadership, all of which will be invaluable as we continue to grow and strengthen Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection,” said Javier Águila, President, Inclusive Collection, Hyatt. “Under his leadership, I'm confident our commercial organization will reach new heights and play an even greater role in delivering on our ambition to be the world’s best all-inclusive organization.”

Most recently serving as Chief Commercial Officer of Cross Border Xpress, Schutte brings more than 30 years of senior commercial leadership across global hospitality, travel technology and asset-backed platforms. His career has included leadership roles at Grupo Posadas, TravelClick, LXR Luxury Resorts & Hotels, Hilton and Amadeus, where he built a strong track record across sales, marketing, revenue management, distribution, pricing, strategic collaborations and business development.

He also brings deep experience across the Americas and beyond, with a proven track record at the intersection of hospitality, distribution, digital platforms and revenue optimization. He holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a degree in Hotel Management from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.

Hyatt's Inclusive Collection currently comprises more than 150 resorts and nearly 58,000 rooms across Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe. That scale is complemented by top talent from the most successful all-inclusive companies of the past two decades, brought together through landmark acquisitions such as Apple Leisure Group in 2021 and Playa Hotels & Resorts in 2025, as well as strategic collaborations, including Hyatt's joint venture with Piñero for the management of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts. These strengths are complemented by the leisure segment's most enabled and powerful distribution platform.

The portfolio continues to expand in destinations and countries that matter most to guests and World of Hyatt members, with the recent openings of Dreams Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa, Secrets St. Lucia Resort & Spa, Secrets Baby Beach Aruba and Secrets Mirabel Cancun Resort & Spa; the extensive renovations of Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort and Hyatt Zilara Cancun; and planned openings such as Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana, Park Hyatt Riviera Maya and Grand Hyatt Los Cabos before the end of 2026.
