Deana Murphy to Retire After 24 Years with Sunwing

Sunwing Vacations Group has announced that Deana Murphy, Vice President, Trade Sales and Business Development, will retire next month, closing out a 40-year career in travel.

Murphy’s retirement will take effect Oct. 16, 2026, following 24 years with Sunwing.

Throughout her career, Murphy has been an advocate for travel advisors and has developed longstanding relationships with agency partners and industry colleagues across Canada. 

“Deana has built incredibly strong and trusted relationships with the agent and trade communities throughout her career with Sunwing,” said Marek Andryszak, President, Sunwing Vacations Group.

“Her dedication and commitment helped build the foundation that has allowed Sunwing to connect with millions of Canadian vacation customers. The impact of her leadership and contributions has been felt across our organization and throughout the travel industry. We sincerely thank her for her extraordinary service and wish her all the very best in her retirement.”

Murphy said she is grateful for the relationships she has built over four decades in the industry.

“I am proud and honoured to have been part of the Sunwing family since its inception in 2002, and it has been a privilege to lead such a talented and dedicated Sales Team,” said Deana.

“I am incredibly grateful to my colleagues, travel advisors and industry partners for their support and friendship over the years. As I move into this next chapter, I will cherish the relationships and memories that have made my career in this industry so special.”

Sunwing said the process to fill Murphy’s role will begin shortly, with the position expected to be posted in the coming days. Additional information will be announced once a candidate has been selected.

Murphy will remain in her position through Oct. 16 to assist with the transition.
