Toronto Public Health (TPH) has confirmed three cases of measles in the Toronto area and some members of the travelling public may have been exposed to measles on several flights during the period of March 19 to 30, 2017.
While there is no cause for alarm, according to TPH, travellers on any of the affected flights are urged to check the immunization records of all family members to ensure they are up to date with the measles vaccination (MMR or MMRV). "Those born before 1970 are considered protected against measles." According to TPH.
Flights where possible exposure to measles may have occurred are:
March 19
March 20
March 22
March 23
March 24
TPH believes that the risk of acquiring measles is low, however, they recommend that travellers check immunization records to ensure measles vaccinations are up to date before travelling.
