As the wellness travel sector continues its rapid rise—with market projections reaching $1.3 trillion by 2025Wellness in Travel & Tourism (WITT) is planting roots in Canada.

The platform has officially launched its certification and training programs in Canada, providing Canadian hotels, resorts, and travel professionals with access to "rigorous" wellness standards and educational tools.

Founded by a team of wellness and hospitality experts, WITT says it is the first organization to offer a 100-point wellness certification for hotels and resorts.

Its mission is to help travel providers deliver authentic wellness experiences through a standardized, measurable framework.

Already gaining momentum across the U.S. with over 100 certified properties, WITT’s expansion into Canada opens the door for domestic properties to earn the company's "Certified seal."

According to its founder, WITT’s certification process is built around five pillars of wellness: Healthy Eating, Holistic Healing, Nature, Movement, and Local Impact.

These form the foundation not only for hotel evaluations but also for WITT’s professional training programs—including the newly launched Wellness Foundations Course (101), now available in Canada.

“Wellness travel is transforming the way people engage with the world, and this course provides a valuable opportunity to develop the knowledge and tools to lead with confidence in this dynamic field,” Ruiz told TravelPulse Canada.
