Sandos Caracol Eco Resort Renamed Sandos Caracol Nature Resort & Water Park

The Sandos Caracol Eco Resort in Playa del Carmen is embarking on a new era, beginning with a name transition.

The 955-room property has officially been renamed Sandos Caracol Nature Resort & Water Park. The renaming of the property follows on the heels of a multi-staged, multi-million-dollar renovation of several resort dining outlets, common areas, amenities, and room categories, along with the addition of new cenotes, an adults-only beach club, and more.

In a statement announcing the official name change, Sandos Hotels & Resorts said the new moniker will usher in “a new era of prosperity” for the property.

“Sandos Caracol’s new name reflects the abundant experience opportunities available for guests on property, the chance to connect with nature and experience the beautiful destination through immersive programming, as well as the rich traditions of the land’s Mayan ancestry,” the company said in a statement. 

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort & Water Park is a eco-friendly resort located in the heart of the Riviera Maya. The property, which is committed to sustainability and cultural preservation, offers a blend of nature, adventure, and relaxation. 

The new name is also meant to bring attention to one of the resort’s attractions: the 29-slide water park, for which all guests are granted complimentary access within the price of their all-inclusive stay. 

The company said the water park has always been a “key element of the Caracol vacation experience.” The resort’s new name allows the water park feature to be highlighted at the forefront of the resort’s identity, alongside its nature-focused principles.
