If you cruised along the far end of Banff Avenue (being branded as "Uptown Banff") over the last few years, you probably saw the slow transformation of the former Inns of Banff property in progress.
Just in time for peak summer season, the two new properties resulting from the massive construction project are open and ready for business.
The co-located properties, The Otter and Hotel Canoe and Suites, are owned by Banff Caribou Properties.
Both hotels are four-star properties with amenities tailored to different audiences, topped off by an “elevated rooftop wellness experience” with rooftop hot pools, saunas, and lounge areas beneath breathtaking views of the Canadian Rockies.
Hotel Canoe and Suites caters to an “adventure-driven demographic,” with modern design meant to align with Banff's reputation as a premier destination for the outdoors.
The Otter Hotel is quietly refined, with upscale spaces that will appeal particularly to mature travellers looking for comfort, quiet, and mountain luxury.
Each hotel features a curated dining concept, developed by celebrated Calgary restaurateurs Dwayne and Alberta Ennest. The signature restaurant in The Otter is Good Folk, with a sophisticated design and emphasis on fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Next door, Sudden Sally, at Canoe, serves elevated comfort food in a fun and energetic atmosphere. There’s also a bakery and grab-and-go counter for people on the move.
