Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel is unveiling six new suites for travelers looking for a luxurious getaway on Santa Cruz Island.

Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel is one of the few overnight accommodations in the Galápagos Islands, the famed archipelago off the coast of mainland Ecuador. It’s also the only beachfront hotel on Santa Cruz Island, the second-largest island in the archipelago and home to the largest town, Puerto Ayora. Santa Cruz Island is also famous for its giant tortoises.

After renovations, Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel is revealing six new “Evolution Suites” that are available for booking starting next month. They’re located in Finch Bay’s garden, a short walk from the main hotel building. Three of the suites are on the ground floor and overlook the property’s native greenery, while three are on the first floor and offer views of the ocean and the beach.

Decorated in earth tones, the suites range in size from 177 to 185 square feet. They feature teak trim, contemporary furniture and either a king or two double beds. Each suite also boasts ample outdoor space, with private balconies ranging from 52 to 76 square feet. And, like the rest of the hotel, they draw 40 percent of their power from solar panels.

To create the new Evolution Suites, the hotel repurposed six existing rooms—keeping the total number of rooms and suites the same at 33, in line with local regulations.

Finch Bay Galapagos Hotel is an ideal base camp for a Galápagos Islands vacation, whether on its own or as an addition to an expedition cruise. The hotel uses 40 percent local produce, as well as ingredients grown right on site, at its signature restaurant. Guests can also take advantage of the on-property spa, which has two massage rooms, hot tubs, a gym and a yoga shala.

The hotel, which is owned by Metropolitan Touring, can also help coordinate tours, activities and packages. The property also has its own yacht, which can accommodate up to 20 guests on explorations of the Galapagos National Park with English-speaking expert guides.
