Best in Class: Top Hotels and Resorts in Canada for 2025 Rankings Released

U.S. News and World Report released its rankings for hotels and resorts in Canada with some of the poshest properties in the country taking the top spots. 

Editors and in-destination experts weighed in on the rankings, combined with traveller reviews to come up with the list. To be considered, hotels and resorts must meet certain criteria, including class rating (mainly 5- and 4-star properties are up for consideration, although they will look at “exceptional” 3-star properties in some markets), property type (no hostels, apartments or niche accommodations), and minimum review count — there must be at least 20 independent and verifiable reviews of the property to be considered. 

When assigning the overall score, U.S. News and World Report look at several data points, including the rewards and recognition the property has received, the hotel class and guest ratings.

The top five of 498 ranked hotels in Canada are:

• Four Seasons Hotel, Toronto
• Fairmont Pacific Rim, Vancouver
• Four Seasons Hotel, Montreal
• The Ritz-Carlton, Montreal

Best Resorts in Canada

In the resorts category, 96 properties were ranked. The top five are:

• Four Seasons Resort, Whistler
• Manior Hovey, North Hatley, QC
• Fogo Island Inn, Joe Batt’s Arm, NL
• White Oaks Resort and Spa, Niagara-on-the-Lake
• Fairmont Chateau Whistler, Whistler
