Some of Great Britain’s top destinations and attractions will gather in Riviera Maya next week for its flagship trade mission for the Americas.
VisitBritain CEO Patricia Yates is excited for the event. "This major trade mission brings our incredibly important Brazil, Canada and USA markets together with British suppliers to do business and drive economic growth,” she says. “We are shining the spotlight on the fantastic products and experiences on offer across Britain, making sure those are sold internationally, boosting Britain’s economy.”
TravelPulse Canada will be there meeting with destination representatives and suppliers to learn all about how and why Canadian advisors may want to sell Great Britain travel. The event will host 53 British tourism industry suppliers and 47 top buyers, with the goal of growing inbound tourism to Great Britain and driving economic growth.
"The size of our delegation shows the enthusiasm from British tourism suppliers to do business in these markets and to hear first-hand from buyers on the motivations and trends driving travel to Britain,” says Yates. “We are looking forward to showcasing our warm welcome alongside all the great reasons to book a trip to Britain right now."
Inbound tourism is one of the UK’s most valuable service exports and a major part of British trade, worth an estimated £34.9 billion (more than 64.7 billion CAD) to the economy in 2025 in visitor spending.
According to VisitBritain, there were 983,000 visits from Canada to the UK this year, with Canadian visitors forecast to spend £942 million (approximately 1,746,665,820 CAD) on their trips.
