The mountain town of Jasper is rebuilding and once again welcoming tourists following the devastating wildfire last year. To help in the restoration and recovery of the town, Pursuit, the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, Rocky Mountaineer and Jasper Brewing and Maligne Range Distilling have each pledged donations.
“To help drive the town’s continued recovery, these funds are an investment in a sustainable future that benefits visitors, local businesses, and the national park we all treasure,” says Stuart Back, Chief Operating Officer, Banff Jasper Collection by Pursuit. “We stand with our community and tourism partners in rebuilding and strengthening Jasper as a premier destination, and we welcome others to join us in ensuring a resilient future for the region.”
Over the next three years, the collective pledge includes:
- $3 million from Pursuit, an attractions and hospitality brand with a collection of world-class experiences in the Canadians Rockies.
- $1.5 million from Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, an iconic luxury resort in the heart of Jasper National Park.
- $1 million from Rocky Mountaineer, a world-renowned luxury train company.
- Upwards of $300,000 from Jasper Brewing and Maligne Range in Jasper through auction proceeds.
“Jasper is home to our team members and has been welcoming our guests from around the world for 35 years,” says Tristan Armstrong, CEO, Rocky Mountaineer. “As part of this donation pledge, we will work with our tourism partners, community organizations, and businesses to support the community's full recovery and future growth. We are wholly committed to contributing to a vibrant, welcoming Jasper for decades to come.”
Funds will be organized as a collaborative initiative and independently and transparently stewarded through trusted community organizations including the Banff Community Foundation and Jasper Community Team Society. This structure will help direct resources to high-impact recovery projects, local businesses, and community programs aimed at building long-term success for Jasper and its residents.
