Destination Jamaica is rolling out a new weekly virtual event series aimed at keeping Canadian travel advisors informed as the island continues its recovery efforts following Hurricane Melissa.
Launching December 2, Irie Hour: Road to Recovery will run every Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. EST.
The online sessions will be hosted via Zoom, with registration available through The Maple Leaf Room, Jamaica’s dedicated trade website for Canadian advisors.
Designed as a real-time briefing hub, each Irie Hour will include guest presentations from resort and attraction partners across the island. The inaugural session will consist of representatives from S Hotel Montego Bay, Iberostar Hotels & Resorts, and Rose Hall Montego Bay, who will provide on-the-ground updates on their properties.
According to Destination Jamaica, advisors can expect clear guidance on:
- Which hotels, resorts, and attractions are currently open
- Anticipated reopening timelines for those still undergoing repairs
- Essential updates to support client confidence and booking decisions
The weekly format aims to give Canadian advisors consistent access to evolving information as Jamaica’s tourism sector works toward full restoration.
Travel advisors can register for the first session and upcoming weeks through The Maple Leaf Room.
