To help travelers dealing with the aftermath of the war against Iran, the Israel Ministry of Tourism (IMOT) has established emergency procedures to assist tourists currently in Israel wishing to travel home.

As part of IMOT’s efforts to provide support and solutions, the ministry operates the Virtual Tourist Office 24/7 to provide official information and respond to inquiries, including via calls, emails, and WhatsApp messages.

IMOT is also helping tourists identify departure options, including land border crossings. To expedite departures, the ministry is operating shuttle services from central pick-up points in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv to the Taba border crossing.

In addition, IMOT is operating dedicated emergency efforts to facilitate the accommodation of displaced individuals in hotels across the country, in cooperation with industry partners and authorities.

IMOT also revealed that Tourist groups visiting Israel operate under the full responsibility of the Destination Management Company (DMC), which assumes exclusive responsibility for the group’s operations throughout their stay.

As part of the DMC’s wartime role, it will oversee all logistical and operational decisions, including selecting the appropriate border crossing when traveling to neighboring destinations—such as Jordan or Egypt—and coordinating all necessary arrangements with the relevant authorities in Israel and the destination country.

IMOT and DMC acknowledged that tour groups are typically accompanied by leaders and designated points of contact who maintain ongoing coordination with agents and partners on the other side of the border to ensure smooth transitions and the continuity of services.
