Windstar Cruises plans to have two ships sailing in French Polynesia starting in March 2027.

Wind Star will join Star Breeze to sail year-round in French Polynesia, offering Windstar’s most expansive South Pacific deployment to date.

“Tahiti is part of our DNA, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring our sailing yacht back to these legendary waters,” says Christopher Prelog, president of Windstar Cruises. “By offering the largest number of departures in Tahiti, we offer unparalleled flexibility and choice—whether you crave the romance of sailing under starry skies or the comfort of an all-suite yacht. However you go, it’s all Windstar: laid-back luxury, local flavor\and a front-row seat to the most beautiful place on earth.”

Guests can choose between two distinct yachts. Wind Star is the brand’s newly refreshed, classic four-masted sailing yacht, with accommodations for up to 148 guests. The vessel will sail the 7-night Dreams of Tahiti itinerary continuously, with weekly Monday departures.

Star Breeze is Windstar’s 312-guest all-suite motor yacht. The vessel will offer longer voyages to more remote locales like the Tuamotus, Marquesas, Fiji and the Cook Islands, which can be combined into Star Collector Voyages of up to 21 days.

In 2027, Windstar will also be unveiling some new features and amenities. Ships will arrive in Papeete at 8 p.m. the night before departure day, which means guests can connect with same-evening flights to Los Angeles.

The brand is also debuting simplified cruise and hotel packages to make it easier to add a stay in an overwater bungalow, with flexible flight options available through Windstar or independently. Windstar is also rolling out AquaBanas—private floating lounges with sunshades, tables and chairs—on its yachts’ marine platforms.

Guests who book by October 31 can take advantage of Windstar’s Early Booking Offer, which includes the best fares and suite selection, plus up to $200 in onboard credits and Windstar’s All-In package (including Wi-Fi, gratuities and select beverages). Guests can also save 5 percent when they pay in full at the time of booking.
