Construction on Royal Caribbean’s seventh Oasis ship began on Oct. 23, with the vessel’s first piece of steel cut at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.

The ship, which has yet to be named, is scheduled to enter service in 2028.

To mark the occasion, a steel-cutting ceremony was held at the shipyard and attended by Royal Caribbean and Chantiers de l’Atlantique officials, as well as a slate of naval engineers, architects, and designers.

“From the original Oasis of the Seas to the ultimate short getaway on Utopia of the Seas, the evolution continues for the record-setting Oasis Class with the seventh in the lineup set to deliver unparalleled experiences across thrills and chill; ways to dine, drink and celebrate; show-stopping entertainment and more to be revealed,” Royal Caribbean said.

Oasis-class ships range in size between 225,282 to 236,857 tons.

The first in the Oasis class of ships is Oasis of the Seas, which launched in 2009, followed by Allure of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas, Symphony of the Seas, Wonder of the Seas and Utopia of the Seas, which made its debut in the summer of 2024.
