Holland America Line is expanding its capacity for the 2027-2028 South America and Antarctica season.
Nieuw Amsterdam will replace Oosterdam starting in the fall of 2027, offering increased capacity, additional stateroom and suite options and access to dining venues such as Tamarind and Morimoto by Sea.
All 2027-2028 South America voyages aboard Nieuw Amsterdam, which will be sailing in the region for the first time, will open for booking February 24.
Guests and travel advisors with existing 2027-2028 South America bookings on Oosterdam will receive direct communication from Holland America Line with more information on the impacts to their voyage.
“Our South America and Antarctica cruises continue to be among the most popular itineraries we offer, and demand has only grown,” says Beth Bodensteiner, president of Holland America Line.
She adds: “Bringing Nieuw Amsterdam to the region allows more guests to experience its incredible diversity—from penguins on Antarctic shores to colorful cities, majestic fjords and glacier‑lined channels. These destinations inspire a deep sense of wonder, and we’re thrilled to elevate the experience with one of our most beloved ships.”
