AmaWaterways, Smithsonian Journeys Unveil 2028 River Cruise Collection

River cruise line AmaWaterways and small-group operator Smithsonian Journeys have partnered to launch a new 2028 river cruise collection with 50 departures across 15 itineraries, including two new itineraries and immersive experiences. 

The “Waterways of Holland and Belgium” and “Cruising the Rhine and Moselle Rivers” are two new Smithsonian Journeys-specific itineraries with the cruise line, each offering expert-led experiences, from lectures to unique excursions. 

Each itinerary in the river cruise collection, which offers cruises along the Danube, Rhine, Douro, Seine, Rhône, and the Mekong, includes exclusive land excursions led by experts such as archaeologists and art historians. 

For example, the new Cruising the Rhine and Moselle Rivers offers exclusive Smithsonian Journeys experiences such as a tour to Colmar, a tour to the European Parliament, a visit to Speyer, home to the largest Romanesque cathedral in Europe, a Roman history tour of Cologne, and more.
