Vancouver International Airport (YVR) was the only North American airport to crack the top 20 when Skytrax announced its rankings of the World’s Best Airports for 2025.
The World Airport Awards were celebrated in Madrid last week, based on polling done on travellers in 565 airports around the world.
Asian airports swept the top spots, with a smattering of Middle Eastern and European airports making up the rest of the top 20. Vancouver was the sole representative from the Americas.
In first place, for the 13th year running, was Singapore Changi Airport (SIN). The beloved airport features a 10-story Jewel shopping mall, multiple indoor gardens and the world’s largest indoor waterfall — the 40 metre Jewel Rain Vortex.
Changi has announced it plans to invest billions over the next few years. Visitors can expect a new theme park, theater, museum, spas and hotels to add to the opulence of the airport.
In addition to “World’s Best Airport”, Changi was awarded World's Best Airport Dining, World’s Best Airport Washrooms and Best Airport in Asia.
