Porter Airlines are winging their way south on a handful of new transborder flights.
The airline’s first U.S.-bound flight from the West Coast is flying from Vancouver International (YVR) to sunny Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX). Flights on this seasonal route will operate daily until April 19, 2026.
“Being able to give travellers more convenient options to travel from Vancouver is a pivotal moment for Porter,” said Andrew Pierce, vice president, network planning and reporting, Porter Airlines. “This route makes Phoenix’s unique desert and mountain landscape more accessible to our passengers in the west, and offers travellers a seamless connection to additional destinations in the U.S., through our codeshare partner, American Airlines.”
Flights will operate on the airline’s Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, featuring a 132-seat configuration with no middle seats.
Transborder from YOW
Vancouver passengers aren’t the only ones who can fly Porter to the U.S. The airline is also introducing two flights from Ottawa (YOW), to Miami (MIA) and Phoenix.
Miami service began on Jan. 24, with three weekly flights. It adds to Ottawa’s growing list of Florida markets, which include Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando and Tampa.
Phoenix flights will also operate three times weekly, beginning Feb. 7, 2026.
“The ongoing addition of nonstop routes from YOW reflects Porter’s commitment to Ottawa-Gatineau," says Pierce about the new routes. “Canadians want to escape winter and these in-demand routes provide more options and more sun for the region.”
Porter now offers more flights from YOW than any other carrier, serving 26 non-stop routes.
