Low-cost carrier Lynx Air has signed an exclusive deal with Allianz Global Assistance to provide travel insurance products to its customers.
Through the new partnership, Allianz will enable Lynx Air passengers to opt for cancellation, interruption, and medical coverage for new bookings and existing reservations.
Lynx says the protection offered by Allianz is meant to act as a safety net for situations not covered by the Air Passengers Protection Rights (APPR), including unexpected travel issues, medical emergencies, or last-minute changes enclosed in its policies.
With air travel rebounding from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, travellers have become increasingly conscious of potential unforeseen circumstances that might disrupt their plans.

This awareness has driven a surge in demand for travel protection, with a 2022 Allianz survey indicating that 74% of Canadians believe travel insurance is equally or more important post-pandemic.
