International Carrier Pulls Route Between India and Canada

Italian low-cost carrier Neos has pulled its only Canadian flight. The weekly flight from Amritsar in Northern India, which flew directly to Toronto with a five-hour stop in Milan, has faced dwindling passenger numbers this year. 

The airline issued a statement blaming current world conflicts: "Due to the current international geopolitical instability and the resulting decline in booking trends, with load factors unfortunately insufficient to ensure operational sustainability, we are forced to suspend all flights between Amritsar and Toronto as of October 8, 2025."

The carrier will continue to operate flights out of Amritsar, to Rome (FCO) and Verona (VRN), for the time being, but flights to Canada have ended until at least summer 2026, reports Simple Flying. 

Passengers travelling between Toronto and Amritsar are still able to fly on Qatar Airways, with a layover in Doha. Qatar also operates a Doha-Montreal route with possible connections for travellers from Amritsar. Other options are on Air India and Air Canada through the notoriously busy Delhi airport.
