Alaska Airlines new service this spring, with daily nonstop flights between its Seattle headquarters and Canada’s largest city beginning May 16.
Toronto will be the sixth Canadian city AS flies to, in addition to Calgary, Edmonton, Kelowna, Vancouver and Victoria.

It’s the first time Alaska Airlines will link Seattle and Toronto, but the carrier does have a history at YYZ – in the early 90’s, the airline flew nonstop service between Los Angeles and Toronto.
“We’re always focused on better connecting the Pacific Northwest with additional nonstops in our network,” said Kirsten Amrine, VP of revenue management and network planning. “There’s a strong desire by our guests for a Seattle-Toronto flight that connects a pair of exciting cities not only for leisure travel but also links key business centres between the U.S. and Canada.”

The new service is ideal for Canadian Alaska cruisers, as, along with Vancouver, Seattle is a major departure port for voyages to The Last Frontier.

In December, Alaska Airlines announced a partnership with Porter Airlines. At the time, Porter said the partnership would provide passengers more flight options and better service from coast to coast and allow pax to purchase combined Porter-Alaska itineraries directly from flyporter.com or via third-party agencies
Porter began new flights from Los Angeles to Toronto on January 16, and will start new service between San Francisco and Toronto on January 25. Those flights, along with flights connecting on Alaska across its West Coast network, can be purchased at alaskaair.com.
