Air Canada Relaunches Toronto-Cleveland Route

Air Canada reintroducing an American route is not something we are used to seeing these days, but that’s what’s happening to the route between Toronto Pearson (YYZ) and Cleveland Hopkins (CLE) that has been on hiatus since last fall.

The suspension of the route was announced in July, 2024 and went into effect on Oct. 13, 2024. At the time, Air Canada announced they would look at bringing it back in May, 2025. 

Sure enough, it’s back, although at slightly less capacity (13 percent) than it was last summer. 

According to Cleveland.com, many of the passengers travelling into Toronto from Cleveland use Pearson as a transiting point, connecting to destinations in Europe and Asia. 

The route has now begun service, travelling twice a day between the two cities. A third daily trip will be added in June.
