The Air Canada Foundation has announced the first recipients of its new Big Dreams Grant Program, awarding two Canadian organizations $100,000 each to support initiatives focused on sport, recreation and youth development.
Launched earlier this year, the national community investment program was inspired by Air Canada's longstanding partnerships with the Canadian Olympic Committee and Canadian Paralympic Committee.
The inaugural recipients are New Pathways Foundation, which receives the Healthy Futures Grant for its "Become" initiative, and Women's Para Hockey of Canada, which receives the Accessible Sports and Recreation Grant for its "Future on Ice" project.
According to the foundation, the program is designed to expand access to inclusive sport and recreation opportunities for children and youth across Canada, with a focus on supporting health, well-being and development.

“At the heart of the Air Canada Foundation’s mission is a simple belief: every child deserves the chance to feel supported, included and able to imagine what is possible for their future,” said Eric Lauzon, Director, Community Relations and Partnerships.
“Through this exclusive Big Dreams Grants program, we are proud to support initiatives that help young people build confidence, discover their strengths and feel a true sense of belonging in their communities.”

Each of the program's two grants—the Healthy Futures Grant and the Accessible Sports and Recreation Grant—provides $100,000 to a Canadian organization creating inclusive sport and recreation opportunities for children and youth.
The Air Canada Foundation said the inaugural recipients were selected for initiatives that use movement, mentorship and community connection to support young people's health, well-being and development.
