Air Canada Axes Montreal-Edinburgh Route

A seasonal Air Canada flight between Montreal and Edinburgh just launched in June, but it looks like its inaugural season may be its last.

The first flight left Montreal-Trudeau International (YUL) on June 27, 2025 with the last flight scheduled for Sept. 7, 2025. 

According to aviation analytics company Cirium, Air Canada has not scheduled any flights along the route for next summer, although it has scheduled flights on its only other Edinburgh route for peak season in 2026.

Air Canada’s Toronto Pearson (YYZ)-Edinburg (EDI) seasonal route will fly three times a week in the spring and daily in the summer aboard its Boeing 787 Dreamliner. 

For now, the only direct flight between Montreal and Scotland is on hiatus and it is too early to know whether it might make a comeback at a later date. Air Canada stated "Air Canada constantly evaluates its routes and performance. It is too early at this time to comment on the possible return of this route." reports aviation news site Simple Flying.
