In a move designed to complement its extensive schedule at Toronto Pearson (YYZ), Air Canada has announced it is expanding service at Billy Bishop Toronto City (YTZ).
Beginning in the spring of 2026, Air Canada will introduce transborder service to New York LaGuardia, Boston Logan, Chicago O’Hare and Washington Dulles, up to four times daily. These flights are set to commence when U.S. Customs and Border Protection opens a new pre-clearance site at the airport.
All the transborder flights are to be operated as Air Canada Express, by Air Canada’s regional partner Jazz Aviation LP, using a 78-seat, De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft.
On top of that, the airline announced increased service to Montreal (moving from eight flights daily to nine) and Ottawa (increasing from four to six flights a day.) The increased domestic schedule will take effect in January, 2026.
The service from Billy Bishop is designed to capitalize on business travel between major centres. Being so close to downtown Toronto is convenient for many people travelling for work. Additionally, Air Canada recently announced a move to enable Wi-Fi on all its flights operating at YTZ which will be a boon to business travellers who want to stay connected while in the sky.

With Air Canada’s new flights from Billy Bishop Airport to the U.S., along with increased flight frequency from Toronto to Ottawa and Montréal, we’re strengthening regional and cross-border connectivity. These additions will make travel more convenient, help connect families across distances, support business growth, and enhance service quality for Canadian travellers,” said the Honourable Steve MacKinnon, federal Minister of Transport.
