Aeroplan is making major changes to its Canadian co-branded credit card portfolio, including a 15% points discount on Air Canada flight rewards, credits toward Air Canada travel and expanded airport benefits for premium cardholders.
The changes take effect Jan. 12, 2027, and apply across Aeroplan’s credit card portfolio.
“A great credit card should be rewarding every time you use it and offer benefits that fit the way you travel,” said Scott O’Leary, Vice President, Loyalty and Product, Air Canada.
“With new savings on flights, car and hotel redemptions, along with new features that bring comfort and convenience at the airport, these changes across our Aeroplan Credit Card portfolio are designed to deliver benefits to our members at every stage of the travel journey.”
15% Off Flight Rewards
Beginning Jan. 12, all primary Aeroplan credit cardholders will receive a 15% discount in points when redeeming for Air Canada flight rewards.
Cardholders will also receive credits toward Air Canada travel through AC Wallet.
Premium cardholders will receive up to $100 annually, split into two $50 credits, while core cardholders will receive up to $50 annually through two $25 credits. The first credit will become available Jan. 15, 2027.
Aeroplan is also making its fourth-night-free hotel redemption benefit permanent. Cardholders redeeming points for eligible hotel stays will receive the fourth night free beginning Jan. 12.
A similar benefit is being introduced for car rentals, with cardholders receiving a fourth day free when redeeming Aeroplan points for eligible rentals.
Existing benefits on eligible cards, including free first checked bags and priority boarding, will continue.
More Airport Benefits For Premium Cardholders
Aeroplan is also expanding several benefits for premium credit cardholders.
Maple Leaf Lounge access, previously limited geographically for this cardholder benefit, will expand to Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges worldwide for premium cardholders and one travel companion, subject to access terms. Air Canada Café access at Canadian locations will continue.
Premium cardholders will also gain access to dedicated Priority Security lanes at select airports worldwide. The benefit will apply to the cardholder and up to eight companions travelling on the same reservation.
Other existing premium benefits will remain, including Priority Check-In, Priority Boarding, Priority Baggage Handling, Priority Airport Standby, the 10% Head Start benefit and the ability to earn up to 25,000 Status Qualifying Credits.
Aeroplan said additional details, including eligibility requirements and terms and conditions, will be made available through cardholders’ financial institutions.
The changes follow Aeroplan’s recognition at the 2026 Freddie Awards, where it received several honours in the Americas region, including Program of the Year, Best Redemption Ability and Best Promotion for its Accelerate Your Way to Status campaign.
