The travel advisor profession is on the rise, according to a new LinkedIn report—and a recent survey by RateHawk.

The survey suggests that the travel advisor profession is not only growing rapidly—it’s also a deeply satisfying career choice for many.

Based on responses from more than 1,300 travel professionals worldwide, the survey found that 92% are satisfied or very satisfied with their roles.

The profession is also attracting new talent at a fast pace. In North America, 23% of respondents joined the industry in the past one to three years, compared to 18% globally.

So what’s driving the surge? The report points to a passion for travel and human connection.

In North America, 73% said their favourite part of the job is creating memorable experiences for clients. Many also cited independence, flexibility, and access to travel perks as benefits.

RateHawk says the study aims to better understand the evolving role of travel advisors and the challenges they face in a changing industry landscape.

The majority of survey respondents work in small or independent businesses. Globally, 50% work in teams of just 2 to 5 people, while 17% operate as solo agents—a figure that jumps to 22% in North America. Larger companies with more than 50 employees represent just 7% of the total.

The report also highlights a strong commitment to career development: 46% attend industry events, 45% set personal sales goals, and nearly one-third take part in webinars or training programs.

Astrid Kastberg, Managing Director at RateHawk, said the findings reflect a purpose-driven mindset: “The travel industry has always attracted passionate specialists who love exploring the world themselves and helping others create meaningful experiences.”

The survey, conducted in Q2 2025, gathered responses from over 1,300 travel professionals across Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia, and the GCC. Respondents included representatives from leisure and business sectors, travel agencies, host networks, and independent advisors.
