Panama Targets Canadian MICE Market with Toronto, Montreal Events in May

Panama is making a targeted push into the Canadian meetings and events market next month, with two industry-focused events scheduled in Montreal and Toronto.

An official delegation from the Central American destination will host travel advisors, tour operators and MICE specialists on May 5 at Hôtel Saint-Sulpice and May 6 at DoubleTree by Hilton Toronto Downtown.

The events are designed to position Panama as an emerging destination for international conferences, incentives and corporate travel, while giving Canadian industry professionals direct access to in-market partners.

According to organizers, the programming will focus on connecting Canadian planners with stakeholders from Panama’s tourism and business events sector, while highlighting the country’s infrastructure and appeal as a host destination.

Panama City is being positioned as a central selling point, with its combination of modern skyline, historic districts and proximity to natural attractions. The destination has been increasingly investing in its meetings and conventions offering, aiming to attract more long-haul business from North America.

The Toronto event will take place May 6 beginning at 5:00 p.m., with a similar format planned for Montreal the evening prior.

Both events will include a cocktail reception, networking opportunities and one-on-one meetings with members of the visiting delegation, along with door prizes for attendees.
